I would support legislation making it a second-degree misdemeanor to use the word “Spooktacular” during the month of October.

If you’re going to the Southeastern contest tomorrow and aren’t familiar with the venue location, here is something to watch out for. I fell for this last year: the online maps show the address of Lyman High School about 3/4 of a mile north of 434.
It’s not.
It’s about 3/4 of a mile south of 434, on the east side of the road.
Hope this doesn’t cause too many problems.
I’ve become most annoyed with the “scooters” that are clogging up the precious few spaces in the local motorcycle lot.
“Wait,” you say. “What’s the difference between a scooter and a motorcycle? They both have two wheels, a motor, and can be driven in local traffic.”
A valid point, and a distinction needs to be made.
If a vehicle is parked in the motorcycle lot, and I can pick it up and lever it nose-first into the concrete garbage can to make room for me, it’s apparently a scooter.
Shots from the 2006 Lakeland competition are up on the site.
The show was held at Florida Southern College, which was architected by Frank Lloyd Wright. I did get some shots of the outside with figure competitors Wendy and Teresa, and I’ll get them up as soon as I can (I am terribly backlogged).
I could spend a week in that place capturing light and never be bored.

Dear Biggles,
Enjoyed the bio, but had an observation.
If you “turned your life around 360 degrees”, you’d still be going in the same direction you started.
Perhaps that was meant as a joke?
Yours,
“Uke”

Held at UCF for the first time in a while, Deke did a good job of putting on a big show.
Next up, Lakeland this Saturday. I’m going to try very hard to have Toni’s page up this week. There are also some things going on external to the site that may (or may not!) have some impact on the output schedule– more as I find out.
Humidity, FL, April 15, 200-
Big Southern University’s goal of entering the Top Ten list of public universities suffered a setback this week, as Officials In Charge Of Such Things canceled a scheduled tour of the university at the last minute.
“Well, of course we wanted to see the facilities,” said committee chair Justin Omdeplume as he boarded the outbound flight from Humidity Regional Airport. “It’s just that when we got there, there was no place to park.”
