{"id":1228,"date":"2010-06-29T20:33:29","date_gmt":"2010-06-30T00:33:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lucas-photo.com\/blog\/?p=1228"},"modified":"2010-06-30T06:28:37","modified_gmt":"2010-06-30T10:28:37","slug":"darling-bud-of-june","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lucas-photo.com\/blog\/2010\/06\/29\/darling-bud-of-june\/","title":{"rendered":"Darling Bud of June"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our feline family member Buddie passed today, June 29, 2010, peacefully and without pain, following the sudden onset of an aggressive cancer.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/lucas-photo.com\/sitepics\/20100629buddie_sm.jpg\" style=\"float:left; clear:right; padding: 1em 2em 1em 0em;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>She had been declining for the past month or so.  She made a brief resurgence in the wee hours this morning and seemed to revert somewhat to her normal self, which allowed us to say our goodbyes.  <\/p>\n<p>Sadly, though, she rapidly declined shortly afterwards and throughout the morning, refusing food, sleeping most of the day, and not reacting to sights or sounds.  <\/p>\n<p>We conferred with our vet, and with no one seeing any possibility of recovery, we made the decision in the early afternoon to send her home in comfort rather than force her to face the inevitable.  <\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"width:50%;float:right; clear:left; padding: 1em 0em 1em 2em;\" ><p>\n&#8220;I said take this child, Lord,<br \/>\nfrom Tucson, Arizona<br \/>\nGive her the wings to fly through harmony<br \/>\nAnd she won&#8217;t bother you no more&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8211; Paul Simon, <u>Under African Skies<\/u><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>She has been a great companion to our family for her seventeen long years, accompanying Sheila on the long trip from Arizona to Florida.
