I got a cat for my birthday– long story–  and my beloved grudgingly conceded to me the naming rights.<\/p>\n

My first thought was to call the cat “Shakey<\/a>” because she was shivering after her alcohol bath, and there was also pizza on the way.  Synchronicity, right?<\/p>\n

My wife disapproved.  I suggested that “Shakey” was short for “Shakira”, and that was an appropriate name because she’s wobbly and appears friendly but really just whines a lot  (the cat, not my wife). Still kiboshed.<\/p>\n

I then suggested “Nibbler<\/a>“, after the Futurama<\/em><\/a> critter, and “Niblet<\/a>“, a rather obscure South Park<\/em><\/a> reference. No go.<\/p>\n

So right now I’m hovering around “Pixel<\/a>“, a blatant Heinlein homage, but  I’m still hoping to come up with something a little better.<\/p>\n

Update: This cat has tiny little front paws, about the size of my thumb.  I was holding her and stroking her back and she started “making biscuits” on my arm… so it’s likely that her name will be Biscuit.<\/p>\n
