Somebody in the paper today actually accused Bush of being a terrorist. And that made me think:<\/p>\n
I guess he snuck into Iraq
\nunder cover of broad daylight,
\nrebuilt hospitals and churches,
\ninstalled a democratic government,
\nopened the schools and colleges,
\nvaccinated hundreds of thousands of children,
\nflushed out al-Qaeda,
\nrestarted the economy,
\ntrained their security forces,
\nprovided interim defense for the country,
\nand started restoring women’s rights,
\nall in the name of striking terror
\ninto the hearts of Iraqis.<\/p>\n
If he’s a “terrorist”, seems to me he’s not a very good one.<\/p>\n
Now of course, Bush has some shortcomings.<\/p>\n
Everybody does. I still have lots of teeth marks in my tongue from eight years of Clinton.<\/p>\n
But I’d be lying if I said I was sure that I’d face a test like September 11 as well as the President did.<\/p>\n
I also think that almost anyone who’s being completely honest with themselves could make the same statement.<\/p>\n

\nis that it makes it easier to figure out
\nwho’s been willing and able
\nto think seriously about an issue
\nbefore forming an opinion,
\nand who shouldn’t be trusted with anything
\nmuch more valuable
