Well Thanksgiving has landed on us yet again. Everything is in order for a late lunch of grilled turkey breast cutlets and all the fixin’s. Oh, crud, the pie has to cool two hours, not cook two hours… okay, lunch will be a little earlier and dessert a little later. That will still work.

Three cheers for bachelor cooking! There are only three metrics for success: it has to be easy, fast, and tastier than any restaurant within a ten minute drive.

The morning newspaper left only a small dent on the doorstep; I wheeled out my engine hoist, levered the paper into the house, fired up the chainsaw and within moments had it down to manageable sections (or “cords” as we used to call it in the newspaper biz).

Ye Gods and little fishies, have you seen what happened to the computer prices overnight? Laptops– decent ones– for $300, $400. Full systems– free!

Oh, wait, there’s a catch… “free”, with $250 AOL rebate when you sign up for a year.

Still, it’s a bargain if you can get $250 back by spending $100 (or whatever) and signing up for AOL “service”. But for $DIETY’s sake, don’t use it.
