So I had packed a Reds hat, but when game time came I didn’t care at all for the way it looked on me. I knew it would be close to 50 degrees, and I’d need some head covering, but seeing no alternative I decided to buy a hat at the park, hoping I wouldn’t need to take out a second mortgage to do so.

Turns out that even the ballpark had some clearance items, and I was able to pick up a Reds hat with the name and number of Adam Dunn, a player who was traded away last year. It only cost $5 because, true to their namesake, they weren’t moving very fast.

(A little Redleg humor there… _very_ little.)

So that worked out well, and the Reds won, and I almost caught a T-shirt but left it for the couples in the row behind me, who squealed and giggled blithely.

And I tried goetta, and it was good. Very, very good.

I waft on a stream of coincidence
much as I float on a warm sea.

I’ve seen this performance so many times
I sail through my part
not knowing how I know my paths, my motivation, my gestalt
yet knowing I have hit my marks.

Synchronicity fills the air of the real
elbowing in, making it thin
showing me ripples, the gathering echoes,
long before whatever is meant to disturb the stillness
does.

Whether bad manners
or vivid imagination
or desperate portents
or merely reality’s dancing indulgence
is yet to be seen…

or if I have seen already, yet to be reassembled
reconnected
referenced
real.

It’s nearly impossible
to bring a man around
to your way of thinking
if he believes
that you haven’t heard *his*.

Since 99% of the new registrations over the past two months have been bot-spam, I’ve temporarily turned off the “Anyone can register” option. If you want to register just send me an email.

The Gators won. The Reds won. I caught up on some much-needed sleep.

Does it really take so little to make a boy happy?

Well, yeah. :)

Here’s something that I just realized, and the implications are frightening:

_Where is the insurance industry’s panicked response to proposed Federal competition and/or takeovers??_

Shouldn’t they be screaming bloody murder (which is not covered under your policy, most likely)?

Shouldn’t they be loudly justifying their existence in any and all media possible? Shouldn’t they be announcing their own internal reform plans which would eliminate the need for Federal absorption?

Well, yes– they *should*.

But since they’re *not*… what does that imply?

Let’s assume, for the sake of nightmares, that Obamacare passes (which optimistically further assumes that the Supreme Court hasn’t already locked photon torpedoes on the entire project).

If that happens, why, the best health care in the world will still be found right here in America, responsive, available, and free of the taint of socialistic catastrophe…

… for a price, of course…

… on the Indian reservations, right next to the casinos.

People use the phrase “Internet addiction” like it was a _bad_ thing.
